Lisa was called to the Bar by Middle Temple in 2002. Lisa’s main areas of practice are Family, Personal Injury and Crime. Lisa combines practice with teaching. Lisa is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for both the Part Time Bar Professional Training Course and the LLM in Bar Practice at Northumbria University where she has taught for fourteen years. Lisa has been accredited by the Advocacy Training Committee (ATC), now known as the Inns of Court College of Advocacy (ICCA) and teaches advocacy on the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC). Lisa also teaches evidence on the BPTC and family law to the undergraduate students.
Lisa accepts instructions on a variety of private law matters including contested contact and residence applications and contested injunction applications (non-molestation, occupation and specific issue injunctions). Lisa is committed to ensuring that representation is provided for those who need it and is able to offer very competitive rates.
Lisa has appeared in the County Court on small claims, infant approval hearings and fast track trials. Lisa has represented both claimants and defendants in road traffic accidents, accidents at work and credit hire. She has appeared at hearings on both liability and quantum and infant claimants at infant approval hearings. Lisa is also available to provide written advices and to draft pleadings in the above fields. Before call to the Bar Lisa enjoyed a successful career in nursing and later midwifery. Lisa has a particular interest in clinical negligence and birth trauma cases.
Lisa regularly prosecutes in the Magistrates’ Courts. Lisa is also happy to accept defence instructions.
